AWANA
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. - 2 Timothy 2:15, ESVAbout Our AWANA Club
Our AWANA club meets each Wednesday during the school year from 6:45-8P.M. Each club meeting consists of the following: Handbook Time, Large Group Time, and Game Time.
Small Group (Handbook) Time
During this 30 minute block of time, the clubber will have an opportunity to share prayer requests and praises as well as spend time focused on scripture memorization and Bible-based truth activities. As your child demonstrates mastery of each section to the Club Director or Leaders and progresses through the handbook, he or she will receive awards (patches, jewels, charms, etc.) that will be added to their sash. These incentives encourage future achievement and create enthusiasm for learning.
Large Group (Council) Time
This is the 25 minute club segment featuring singing, testimonies and a Bible message. Award presentations and snacks are also scheduled at this time. Please notify us with any dietary restrictions so that we may provide a safe and appropriate snack for all of the children.
Interest Class Time
This 30 minutes is the time for clubbers to enjoy learning about something that interests them. A variety of 8 week classes will be offered. Each 8 weeks, children will get to choose which activity to attend for the session. Sessions may include things such as paper bead making, kitchen science, AWANA games, architecture and sewing, Due to the nature of some activities, boys and girls are encouraged to wear pants or shorts (for comfort and modesty) and tennis shoes (for safety).
